C++ Project: Electricity Bill Generator Program – BILLGEN

May 2, 2017wp-himu1 Comment

This C++ project, Electricity Bill Generator C++ Program (BILLGEN) was made by me when I was in 12th standard. It was a CBSE examination board C++ project for computer science subject. In CBSE board project we have to submit acknowledgement, certificate, about project, working of program and other documents along with source code of working c++ program. So I have decided to provide you all the required documents with step by step images of running program.

NOTE: This c++ project still needs modification and fell free to modify it the way you like. Some function are not coded but the program runs smoothly.

About C++ Project: Electricity Bill Generator (BILLGEN)

The C++ project is about a standard Electricity Bill Generator C++ Program. When billgen.cpp file is compiled successfully in a C++ supported compiler, the executable file is generated (i.e. program, billgen.exe).

The bill generator program works with two files (data.txt and bills.txt). Data.txt contains data for the program variables and bills.txt stores the bills that are saved by the program operator and can be later used to search bill records.

Data file (data.txt) will be generated automatically if it’s not present there and bills file is created when first bill is saved.

 The program runs as follow:

Searches the file containing data (data.txt)
Shows the welcome screen.
Authentication is done (ask password).
Show the main menu (options containing other options).
Now the program runs according to the user’s choice.

To generating bills:

It asks for the person’s info and electricity units consumed and then calculates the total payable bill according to values save in data.txt file.

Features of Billgen

The C++ program have predefined values and settings for smooth running which can be changed by user and can be saved for further bill generating.

The program gives information of every process. The user can switch the c++ program to default settings.

The size of executable file is less than 80kb.

Facilitate the program operator with the power to search, modify and delete any bill and value.

In short it is portable and useful, easy to use and customize; less in size and needs little memory to run.
