Which Apps can help you deal with your Children homework and assignments?

Here are a few apps that both you and your kids can use to help complete homework assignments. Most of the apps are for the iPhone or iPad, but there are common alternatives on other operating systems such as Windows, Android and BlackBerry. Each of the apps will help your child study or complete homework assignments.

Google Calendar

You can use the Google Calendar for the iPhone, Windows and BlackBerry. It should already be installed into the Android. It allows you to integrate all of your other Google apps with it so that you can create reminders and set things on a schedule. It is a good app for helping to keep things organized in the Childs schedule, your schedule and any assignments you are both working on.

This is an app that is dedicated to homework only. It reminds kids of their homework due dates and is a nice app for you both to work with and manage projects. The only downside with these sorts of things is that it relies on your child being honest. Your child could pretend that he/she did not get any homework and so leave vacancies on their homework schedule.

This app is free and is available for just about every type of mobile operating system there is. So finding it should not be a problem. Ideally, you want to teach your child to take notes wherever and whenever possible. Note taking allows a person to leverage the ideas that they have during the day. It is a good way of helping your child to be more imaginative, creative and thoughtful during the day. It also encourages your child to think about more than Facebook when he or she is out and about.

Help your child to study by helping them create flashcards and then having them show on your child’s phone. Creating the flashcards can be a very pleasant learning experience for the child, and if you create a few in secret then you can throw them into the mix and really test your child. It is a great activity to do together, especially if you know the material yourself because you can create more detailed flash cards.

FC Tasks

This is an iPhone app from a company that is an established day planner publisher. The app is based around trying to make you more productive and by allowing you to list the things that need to be done and then prioritize them. It also allows for you to set up recurring list items. Use this with your child and teach him/her how to be more organized.

You may also set in the child’s chores too, so that the child has a reminder of what it needed on a weekly basis. You can check back with the app to be sure that your child is using it properly, and to be sure that homework assignments are getting done when they are supposed to be.

This is an iPhone and BlackBerry app that allows you to set up six folders which may hold thirty tasks. If you and your child work with the app you may be able to set up homework assignment plans, and separate the homework out into the various folders.

You can use the app to set up timers and reminders so that the child has no excuse for not doing a piece of homework and for not finishing an essay. You can even encrypt your data if you want and back it up on the Cloud too.

Grammar Guide

Getting your child to learn the rules of grammar is difficult, especially as they get older and the rules of sentence logic come into to play. Plus, so many of the rules are twisted that it is hard to know what is what. The many uses of the hyphen still cannot be agreed upon, and there are “inexplicable” and “explicable” are opposites and yet “inflammable” and “flammable” mean the same thing.

Suffice it to say that if you want your child to do well in his or her older years, then you should start helping them with grammar right now. It may also improve the way they speak as they realize the difference between taking a “lie down” and taking a “lay down.”

Remember the Milk

This is an app that works for the iOS, Android and BlackBerry. It is a to-do list creative that has lots of little functions that help you to organize your tasks. But, the biggest benefit of this app is that it allows you to create to-do lists. You can use it with your child to arrange and sort out daily tasks.

You can work with your child to set up a week’s worth of things to do or a day’s worth of things to do. A good idea is to create an outline for an essay with your child. You can walk your child through how to outline an essay correctly by turning the outline into a to-do list. The child may then structure his or her essay based on the to-do list you come up with.
