What is Netgear firewall?
Netgear firewalls are a combination of hardware and software. The hardware part gives netgear firewalls excellent performance, while the software part allows firewalls to be tailored to your specific needs.
My story: I was doing internship at some company and I find Netgear firewall blocking everything but in a few days I found some quick ways to access internet and here are few tricks to bypass Netgear firewall.
What is a Firewall?
A firewall can either be software-based or hardware-based and is used to help keep a network secure. Its primary objective is to control the incoming and outgoing network traffic by analyzing the data packets and determining whether it should be allowed through or not, it is Internet filter.
Note: Please note that these tricks might not work for you as it depends on the netgear firewall settings and its model/version therefore to find the best solution you have to simply try them.
Bypass Netgear Firewall with Proxy Websites
If you want to visit a blocked website then you don’t need to mess up with Netgear firewall, the quick solution is to use a proxy website to view and browse any site. A proxy website is website that connects you to a specific website from their computers and provides the similar functionality.

Access Facebook using Secure http or Mobile Version
The best way to access facebook is to access it using secure http. Visit https://facebook.com instead of http://facebook.com.
Sometimes visiting m.facebook.com also helps. This is the mobile version of facebook.
What is secure http or https?
Http stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a widely used communications protocol for secure communication over a computer network, with especially wide deployment on the Internet. Technically, it is not a protocol in and of itself; rather, it is the result of simply layering the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) on top of the SSL/TLS protocol, thus adding the security capabilities of SSL/TLS to standard HTTP communications.
Firefox: Unblock Websites by Adding Exceptional Certificate
Now if you know that your netgear firewall allows secure http you can add it to each website you want to visit but if the website doesn’t support secure http then you can add exceptional certificate in your firefox browser.
Step 1: Use https:// before the website URL.
Step2: Click on the option “I Understand the Risks” on error page
Step3: Add and confirm exception and maybe you’ll be able to access it.
Chrome: Access blocked website using Google Search
Open google chrome and instead of putting website address at address bar put the keywords (or website name) so that you can visit websites via google search and then click the appropriate result/link to access the website.
I hope the above tricks are working for you. If you have any other tricks to bypass Netgear Firewall then please share it with us.
